Segment 1

Segment 2 consists of six hours of classroom instruction reviewing driving experiences and discussion on topics such as emotions and road rage, drinking and driving, driving in adverse weather, and preparing for the road skills test.

Segment 2 classes are offered monthly. Classes are three consecutive nights for two hours each night.

The cost for Segment 2 is $50.00

What is Segment 1:

Segment 1 consist of 24 hours of comprehensive classroom instruction.

- Three (3) consecutive weeks

- Monday - Thursday of each week

- During the school year from 7pm - 9 pm

- During summer months from 8 am - 10 am or 10 am - 12 pm

Six (6) hours of dynamic behind-the-wheel instruction (IN ADDTION TO THE CLASSROOM INSTRUCTION)

- During the school year from 3 pm - 7 pm and may include some Saturday and/or Sunday driving

- During the summer months from 10 am - 8 pm, Monday - Friday (No weekend drives).

Students will be able to schedule their own driving and observation times. For this convenience, we will have a common drop-off/pick-up point.

After the driver completed his/her final drive we do make contact with each parent to advise them of their child's driving status.

At 7:00 pm the first evening of each new session, we conduct a mandatory Parent Meeting where we discuss:

- The expectations of each student in class and behind-the-wheel.

- What parents and students can expect from class and behind-the-wheel instruction.

- The Michigan Graduated Drivers License process.

Cost for Segment 1 is $340.00

All classroom instruction is conducted at St. John's Lutheran School, 525 Taylor St., Grand Haven, Mi.
